Erhai (second lake) in Yunnan province, China is quite a large lake bordering Dali. You can make boattrips on or cycle trips around it. Early in the morning, about five 0'clock the sun is still lurking behind the mountains and Erhai lake is but a streak on the horizon dwarfed by the surrounding mountains.
