In the Shanghai Urban Planning building there is a permanent show and this absolutely fascinating scale model of Shanghai. Hundreds of highrise buildings dot the city. With a population of almost 16 million people Shanghai is expanding with more than 15 suburban towns surrounding it. At 13.00 hours the Huangpo slithers like a blue ribbon and Shanghai's landmark, the Pearl TV tower, the JinMao building tower above everything. All the buildings have gone up in the last 15 years. Most are still new. It's fascinating to recognize and find the highrise building you know, work or reside in, among all these buildings.
