Lesson Four
THREE THINGS YOU MUST DO

Chapter 3: Witnessing

"You will be my witnesses" (Acts 1:8). What is a witness? He is a person who testifies to what he knows to be true. In so doing a witness may have to tell his experience with the matter involved and his knowledge of it.

You are called to be a witness of Jesus Christ, your Lord. This is the most glorious and privileged task for which you can ask. If you love or respect some person truly and dearly—you cannot help but talk about him or her to almost everyone you meet.

I have met many young people talking about Napoleon and General MacArthur because they admired them. Many parents love to talk about their children because they love them.

Would you not testify of the love of God when you know and believe that He gave His Son for you so that you might be saved? Not only that—Jesus Christ who died for you asked you to "go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation" (Mark 16:15).

This is His command. Will you not respond?
First, let us ask: About what should we witness? The Bible says, "We preach Christ crucified" (I Corinthians 1:23). "Go and proclaim the kingdom of God" (Luke 9:60). "Preach the Word" (II Timothy 4:2). "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news" (Isaiah 61:1). "Go into all the world and preach the good news" (Mark 16:15).

We are to tell others about God's love, the death and resurrection of Christ and the salvation provided by Him, and that outside of Jesus there is no salvation for man.

Second, to whom shall we witness? The Bible says, "to ALL creation" (Mark 16:15). This means that you have the responsibility to share the Gospel with every living man and woman, boy or girl. It was because someone cared for you when you did not know Christ, that you can visit this website. Thus you are studying this Bible correspondence course.

Because some person wanted to share the Gospel with someone else, you came to know the Lord Jesus Christ. And there are many people who cannot know of God's love unless and until you share it with them.

There are many ways to do this witnessing.
1. Begin in your own home. Is your family unkind or unfriendly to you now because you accepted Jesus? Then begin to pray for each one definitely and daily.
2. What about your neighborhood? Are there some homes that have not received the Gospel?
3. What about villages and towns in nearby places? Are there not some people to whom you must witness?
4.There are many countries in the world where God needs men to preach the Gospel. God might have a plan for you in a foreign country. Pray to God that He may show you His will in this matter.

Always remember that there are many thousands of people who will never know that Christ died for them unless you tell them the Good News.

Now, we come to the final part of this entire Bible correspondence course. I have a few personal words for you.

First of all, you are to be greatly commended for having studied through this last lesson. I am sure it has not been easy for you. But you have completed it now.
Second, pass on the lessons of this course to others who might be interested in studying them.
Lastly, please join a Bible-believing church in your village or city. It is important that you attend church regularly and fellowship with other Christians. It will be a strange place for you at the beginning. But with patience and prayer, continue to attend about four months. Then all the shyness and difficulties will be overcome. Make friends with Christians in the church and join the various groups and activities in the church.

If there is no Bible-believing church in your area, please let us know. It has been my joy and thrill to go with you through these four lessons.

Although I do not know you personally, my prayers are with you that God will give you direction, strength and guidance so that you will grow every day in your spiritual life. May the risen Lord be with you every day! We want to know how much of a blessing this course has been to you.

Please tell us in your own words: What have you done with what you have learned? Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior? Do you know that He has forgiven your sins and given you eternal life? Do you want to serve Him and share with others what you know about Him?

Tell us in your own words… do not worry about your style of writing. The simpler it is, the better. After you have written your DECISION, email it to us. We will send you something special after we receive it. God bless you.
